it was not till one thirty am that some time was found to write the daily update. and they say that fasts are boring. fe.seder ran as usual until 1:15 then we davened mincha.
from there we went to the local little league baseball park and we had a interesting baseball game. learning teacher Y. S. K. made some surprising moves and now the bochurim gained more respect to the "down to earth [literally made a dive for a catch] mashpia" the final score was 26-6... it was cincinatti vs. sharon and cincinatti kicked. says something about Yeshiva...
back at four thirty, the dorm grew silent as the tired boys collapsed one by one. later that day the boys would compare the records of how many hours they pulled off... abi gezunt.nine ten was maariv. the second maariv was over suddenly the food just popped out, a cookie from one packet a coke from another...
we ran to a great break-fast meal of milchige lasagna. and from there we ran to the lake-front for a special treat:
fire works on our own lake, sponsored by the town of Sharon. for a half an hour we sat on the beach with mouths open in awe. it really was a sight.from there back to the meal. and then lights out at eleven thirty. only that......
right after lights out, all the chevre in their pajamas, walked over to the main building (there are two buildings that the bochurim deal with, one is the dorm, the other is everything else - kitchen, showers, auditorium, classrooms and shul. (canteen also).) for a grand game of buck-buck.
yup it looks just like it sounds... it was not made for the light hearted but it is an experience. (ask your son for a detailed description of the game it sounds much better in over the phone....) to put it simply, it is a bundle of fun with a touch of action. the kids had a blast, the back was aching and the head was banging but it was all smiles.
from some boys it was the first time that they openly admitted and thanked for a great time, if you knew what i'm talking about you would understand how much that meant. so we learn't a lesson that fun doesn't have to cost money all we need is atmosphere and smiles.
but i guess the lesson was absorbed too late cause for thursday we are having a big expensive trip... but that we will talk later.
until then
the happy staff and students of the greatest Yeshivas Kayitz
