So here comes the update of what is going on. I say "going on" because the effect and reach of the summer is not limited to the confines of such few weeks. So this is what happened over the weekend.
You would think that the trip would knock out the Chevre making the Shabbos meal lame and boring, yet it seemed that nobody wanted to lose out on the specialty and uniqueness of the Sharon Friday night experience, keeping us up to the wee hours of the morning.
Shabbos went with a bang, but not stam a bang, we're talking somethig way beyond anything else we saw this summer. SIX BOCHURIM BAUGHT ALIYOS PRMISIONG BLI NEDER TO FINISH BAVA BASRA OVER THE NEXT YEAR! besides a bunch of Mikva, Chitas and Rambam Hachlatas.
Shabbos afternoon we we're given the option of abisel shloff which most of lost our shpitzkeit at least for this Shabbos, and used out this rare opportunity of sleep.
Motzoei Shabbos, all hyper and excited we played steel the salami and Gaga, and headed to bed.
Morning came, payback time to those we owed trips to, and packing for the others. Work was in full swing, as we got ready for the banquet, where everything we lived through would culminate and "hit us" in the small time frame around the tables.
The banquet started with video of the Rebbe and Maariv. Then the speeches started, first to the stand was Director L. A. who sang his goodbye to the Chevre in an original song written to the hottest tune in Sharon, and a comedic song "camp is lame this place is insane come on everybody let's complain…"
Reb Shmuel Newman spoke passionately about the changes we all went through, and how we must never forget this summer and its lessons.
Some Bochurim put up the entertainment with gramen, songs and thoughts. Then came the highlight when each Talmid was given the chance to share his feelings and thoughts as YK comes to an end. It was getting warmer and warmer; we got some imitation from Counselor Eli Horwitz from day camp, and then we gave out the diplomas to hardest working Talmid and best in each class.
Kadaboom, the place soon went wild as Bochur after Bochur took the Hachlata to finish Bava Basra next year, each Hachlata got a kule from each staff member, all in all eighteen Bochurim (at least, I lost count) took the hachlata!!!!!!!!!!!
This place is insane……………..
Way into the morning we sat (some teary eyes were spotted). At five the airport group headed out, and before long we all loaded the busses back home.
What could I say, I have been in many a yeshivas Kayitz, I never heard this amount of thank you and appreciation, the Rebbe's Koichos were seen throughout, each and every Bochur either privately or in public admitted that "this was one of the touching and life changing summers they ever lived through, and this summer exceeded all expectations."
Since I'm sure this email be read by the Bochurim too, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you, students, parents and staff for making this the greatest and most life changing five weeks we could've ever imagined.
Keep the spirit wherever you are the coming year, and you could already start looking forward for the reunion. Details to follow.
What if….. we didn't go to Yeshivas Kayitz Sharon?
Think globally act locally! Ker a velt heint!
